We like to carry out our photo shoots in places we have a connection with. Ideally somewhere we know through training or racing. Seaford, on England’s south coast, fitted the bill perfectly.
Two summers ago we ran the Seaford Half Marathon and were blown away by the race and its landscape. The course is a single loop, climbing quickly onto the South Downs with stunning open views. Pretty villages and sheltered river sections provide variety, before a steep switchback descent down Seaford Head to the finish.
The shoot was on a blustery January day, with silvery winter light and scurrying clouds. We based ourselves at Seaford Head and started with easy strides along the beach, making the most of the low tide.
For a change of scene we climbed Seaford Head, running the final section of the half marathon in reverse, exploring the narrow chalk trails above the cliffs.
Look out for more images from Seaford on our website over the coming weeks. Winter is a great time to get out and embrace the elements, and we hope the photography captures some of the magic of our day.
