This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.iffleyroad.com (the “Site”).

 

1.  PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

 We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
  • Our website also uses apps which either collect data (for example our loyalty app "Smile") or use data (for example a product recommendation app called "Nosto".)  We have listed these apps and how they use data at the bottom of this document, under Appendix 1, Apps.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Paypal, Amazonpay etc), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

We may hold additional personal information, always with prior consent, for certain individuals, for example our Iffley Road Ambassadors and blog authors.  

 

2.  HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you regarding your order;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • If you have elected to accept marketing, provide you with information relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

 

3.  SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with a small number of third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

 

4.  CONSENT

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we request consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. We ask that consent every time you order by asking you to tick a box titled “I agree to the terms and conditions”.

We may use your information to provide you with marketing information that you request or that we feel may interest you. We will do this by post, SMS or email.

  • If you are an existing customer, we may contact you by email and/or SMS with information about products and services which are similar to those we previously provided to you, unless you have indicated that you do not want to hear from us.
  • If you are a new customer, we may contact you by email and/or SMS only if you consent.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at customerservice@iffleyroad.com 

Note that the right to disclosure of information any company holds about you is a key part of the recent GDPR regulations (effective 25 May 2018).

 

5.  BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING AND MARKETING

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements we believe may be of interest to you. Our marketing communications are designed to tell you about the benefits we can offer so that you have access to our best deals. We may use the information we have about you to tailor the content and try to ensure that the offers are as relevant to you as possible. We partner with Rakuten Advertising, who may collect personal information when you interact with our digital property, including IP addresses, digital identifiers, information about your web browsing and app usage and how you interact with our properties and ads for a variety of purposes, such as personalisation of offers or advertisements, analytics about how you engage with websites or ads and other commercial purposes. 6.  DO NOT TRACK

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

 

7.  YOUR RIGHTS

If you are a European resident your rights are now covered by GDPR, effective 25 May 2018. You have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us by email at customerservice@iffleyroad.com or through the additional contact information in section 10 below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada, where Shopify is based, and the United States.

 

8.  DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.  The same retention policy applies to your Rewards and Referrals data and your email sign up data.  

Survey data and ambassador application data is retained for up to 18 months.

 

9.  CHILDREN

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16.
