1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
- Our website also uses apps which either collect data (for example our loyalty app "Smile") or use data (for example a product recommendation app called "Nosto".) We have listed these apps and how they use data at the bottom of this document, under Appendix 1, Apps.
Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Paypal, Amazonpay etc), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”
We may hold additional personal information, always with prior consent, for certain individuals, for example our Iffley Road Ambassadors and blog authors.
2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you regarding your order;
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- If you have elected to accept marketing, provide you with information relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
3. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We share your Personal Information with a small number of third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store--you can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site--you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
We will always ask your consent for collecting information about you. We never use pre-ticked consent boxes.
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we request consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. We ask that consent every time you order by asking you to tick a box titled “I agree to the terms and conditions”.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will always ask you directly for your consent. Currently we do this in five ways. (1) Through our website at check-out, where we offer you the chance to accept marketing through a tick box at the final checkout screen; (2) Through the "account Set Up" process if you choose to set up an account with us; (3) Through our “Sign Up To Our Newsletter” boxes and pop-ups in various website locations such as our homepage and our journal; (4) Through our Rewards and Referrals programme and (5) Through ad-hoc forms - currently these comprise: a survey form, an application form to become an Iffley Road Ambassador
How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Note that the right to disclosure of information any company holds about you is a key part of the recent GDPR regulations (effective 25 May 2018).

Under the Data Protection Legislation/GDPR, this might qualify as profiling. If you do not wish us to use your data for this purpose, please email us at email@example.com
We partner with Rakuten Advertising, who may collect personal information when you interact with our digital property, including IP addresses, digital identifiers, information about your web browsing and app usage and how you interact with our properties and ads for a variety of purposes, such as personalisation of offers or advertisements, analytics about how you engage with websites or ads and other commercial purposes.
